editing stills
in the first photo it represents the genre as it shows the pop aspect of of this as in a pop video the focus is usually on the features of the artist such as there hands or there mouth. we edited our shot to show the desaturation of colours in the image but to also help reflect the mood of the artist and to emphasise her hands which was the main feature we were trying to focus on. the effectiveness is great because it highlights mood in the genre and gives the image a meaning. however the first attempt at editing didn't work out as we turned the image orange and so represented the image to be of one from a rock video rather than a pop video. this image relates to the theory from Laura Mulvey of how men act and women appear, this is emphasised by the image which seems to just have appeared in front of the camera. however this image also challenges the theory as its a female orientated image and so the women are acting as well as appearing challenging her theory of women just appearing. yes i would use this type of representation in my music video as it brings about a meaning of things and i think that it would be important to give my music video a meaning.
